Economic Diversification Support Technical Assistance Project (EDSTAP)
The Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has received a grant in an amount of US$ 915,000 (Nine Hundred and Fifteen Thousand United States Dollars) from the African Development Bank’s Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) to finance the Economic Diversification Support Technical Assistance Project (EDSTAP).
The overall development objective of this project is to strengthen and build an inter-dependent ecosystem of Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises Associations that would contribute towards creating a diversified and competitive economy. The specific objective of the Project is to improve the institutional capacities and effectiveness of business associations in Lesotho by improving partnerships, entrepreneurship, skills development and access to finance and markets, capacity building in advocacy; business management training; facilitating peer learning; networking and exchange of experience and information on enterprise development in Lesotho. The project will be implemented over a period of three years between March 2018 and June 2021.
The Project has four (4) components:
- Component 1: Institutional Assessment of Business Associations ‘needs, capacity, relevance, delivery and Networking of Stakeholders
- Component 2: Development of shared services and Business Development Support
- Component 3: Strengthening Private- Private and Private-Public Dialogue;
- Component 4: Project Management and Co-ordination.
The project will involve procurement of goods and acquisition of consulting services which shall be carried out in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy and Methodology for Bank Group funded operations, dated October 2015. Solicitation documents are expected to be available in April 2018.
