First things first. No. Last things first. Yesterday’s THUD Pitch Competition had 4 participants. Comprised of Posh Cleaning Services, Girls Coding Academy, Maths and Science Academy and Botanical Wares.

Out of the 4, Posh Cleaning Services won the pitch competition and will be advancing to The Entrepreneurs Network EXPO in November. We managed to corner the Founder of Posh Cleaners, ‘Malereko Matlanyane, finding her both relaxed and chatty after their big win.

Were you expecting this?

Honestly not at all. Well, I hoped for it but I didn’t really expect it

Share a bit about your business and your vibranium

Posh Cleaners is about post-construction cleaning, household cleaning and laundry services. Those are the services that we offer for now. Moving along we will enter into commercial cleaning and the likes. So what we do is post-construction cleaning because I have background of the construction industry and I have an idea of how to penetrate the industry.

What does this win mean for you?

It is a serious motivation. It motivates me to push myself harder than I already did. I started pushing myself by actually attending and coming to pitch and now I have to do more than just come to pitch here.

Going forward into The Entrepreneurship Expo, what should we expect?

What I picked up from this pitch is that you need to have a value proposition, you need to have your vibranium, you need to differentiate yourself. So going forward into The Entrepreneurship Expo, I will have the “it”. The vibranium. That value proposition that differentiates my business from the rest of other cleaning companies.

Any motivation to new entrepreneurs in the game?

I’m also new in the game, but push on, push harder and never give up.

Any last words?

I’m excited and very happy, I wasn’t expecting this. I’m really very thankful.

But more than that, we’re protecting our country and our heritage, while at the same time expressing our individuality. It is time to start talking about other values – those we should be putting first; not those that are outspoken but what is truly important for us all, and for Lesotho’s future.

The bank also presented a cheque for M160,000 towards the sponsorship of entrepreneurship development through TEN that will culminate into the annual Entrepreneurship EXPO coming in November.

And finally, Mookho Moqhali graced the stage with her performance and it was exciting to see many people willing to listen to her offering.

It was just a nice variety for me.
