Land Surveyor at LAA

The Authority seeks applications from qualified, competent and highly motivated individuals to fill the following positions within the organisation. The positions are based in Maseru and Leribe respectively. They require good spoken and written Sesotho and English. A competitive and market-related remuneration package including non-contributory benefits is offered.

 

Land Surveyor (1)

Key Result Areas:

  • Land surveys prepared and approved accurately, in a timely manner and to specification as laid out in the Chief Surveyor’s Instructions and that they adhere to the Land Survey Act
  • Cadastral maps and DCDB kept up-to-date
  • Survey control data provided to users quickly
  • Smooth operation of Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS)
  • Effective supervision of Survey Assistants and technicians

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • At least a Degree in Land or Geomatics Surveying or Survey Engineering or similar field (higher diploma preferred)
  • Working knowledge of GNSS theory and practice for surveying and mapping
  • Practical knowledge of GIS
Skills:

  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
  • Ability to appreciate and apply cadastral and topographic survey methodologies to the required standards
  • Ability to prepare terms of reference for outsourcing of survey work
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Code B driving license

 

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years’  experience in land surveying, preferably cadastral topographic or geodetic.

Box 11856, Maseru 100, for the attention of The Director of Corporate Services, Land Administration Authority. Envelopes containing the application, or email subject line, should clearly state the position applied for.

Applications must be received on or before Friday, 27th October 2017. All shortlisted applicants will be informed as to the status of their applications (please provide an email address for this purpose).  Applicants who do not hear from the Authority by 10th November 2017 may assume that their applications have not been successful.
