  1. Preamble

Loti Brick (PTY) Ltd, a Manufacturer of clay brick products in Lesotho, is looking for a qualified, experienced and hands-on Finance Manager. The main function of this position would be to head Department of Finance and Administration and plan, manage, coordinate and direct all financial and accounting activities and practices of Loti Brick to ensure keeping of proper books of accounts, provision of annual financial statements which accord with the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP), provision of relevant and reliable periodic management accounts, and effective financial management and planning.

 

  1. Key Performance Areas
  • To supervise and ensure that all functions and duties of Finance and Administration are undertaken with the required efficiency and effectiveness.
  • To oversee preparation of timely, relevant and reliable monthly management accounts.
  • To plan, coordinate and manage Loti Brick’s budgetary process.
  • To project cash flow requirements and ensure that there is always adequate cash to meet planned company payments.
  • To develop and manage a costing model to ensure proper costing of all products to, in turn, inform proper product pricing which enables realization of profits from each product line.
  • To ensure that all financial reporting meet the regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends and annual accounts.
  • To ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements as well as to facilitate internal and external audit of the same.
  • To review the company’s existing financial systems, policies and procedures and assess their effectiveness, adequacy and appropriateness.
  • To develop, recommend and implement well-documented and up-to-date financial systems, policies, processes and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
  • To advise Management on investment decisions to ensure that only viable investments are carried out.
  • To perform secretarial services for the Loti Brick Board of Directors.
  • To coordinate activities of the Finance and Administration Department.

 

  1. Competency Requirements for the Position
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant with 3 years’ relevant experience; OR B. Comm. with General Accounting and 5 years relevant experience; OR
  • A relevant Master’s Degree with 2 years’ relevant experience. The Master’s Degree holder should have covered Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting and Taxation as core courses.
  • Competence in ACCPAC is highly essential.
  • Should have at least 1 year managerial experience.
