The Government of Lesotho has received financing from IFAD toward the cost of the Wool and Mohair Promotion Project (WAMPP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the recruitment of Consulting Services provided by an Individual Consultant as part of the Post of Consultant for the Development Market Analysis and Development for Wool and Mohair Cottage Industry
The consulting services (“the Services”) include investigating and analyzing wool and mohair weaving oriented markets, at national, regional and international levels, in order to identify markets to be developed and subsequently to provide specific, updated and detailed advice, qualitative and quantitative information as to which markets to target with focus on wool and mohair weaving products. The consultancy is expected to be implemented over a period of Four (4) months.
The Wool and Mohair Promotion Project now invites eligible Individual Consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:
- Be skilled and experienced person on market research and development of marketing strategies.
- He/ She must have solid understanding of export marketing and trade.
- Must Possess a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a degree in a relevant discipline (marketing, economics, or international trade)
- He/ she must have accumulated practical experience of over seven (7) years in market research and development of marketing strategy as well as hands-on experience with competition analysis
- He / She must show a proof of experience of a similar assignment in at least three developed and /or least developed countries.
- He / She should have the capacity to work in English, both spoken and written
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to IFAD’s policy on conflict of interest situations that must be avoided as described in IFAD’ Project Procurement Guidelines – September 2010.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in IFAD’ Project Procurement Guidelines – September 2010.
