Request for proposals – Consultancy on National PCB Inventory Verification
The Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture, is a party to Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). The group of chemicals known as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) is one of the persistent organic pollutants covered by the Stockholm Convention. It is under this Convention that the Ministry together with Africa Institute (AI) for environmentally sound management of hazardous and other waste, the project on disposal of PCB oil contained in transformers and disposal of capacitors containing PCB in Southern Africa is at initial stage of implementation.
The Ministry is therefore seeking the services of Lesotho registered consulting individuals or f irms to undertake a National PCBs Inventory Verification Exercise.
Consultants are requested to prepare separate technical and financial proposals in separate sealed envelopes marked “National PCB Inventory Verification”. The proposals should be accompanied by the consultant’s CV.
Qualifications and Experience
The following are the key attributes required for the consultancy. The criteria should apply to the project leader or individual responsible for the task implementation.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Waste Management, Chemistry or other relevant field.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in similar assignments.
